LotusFM have decided to kick off the year with a live broadcast from Clayhaven Primary school, hoping to captivate 500 pupils in their very own backyard. The school, based in Phoenix, is close to the heart of LotusFM's very own Breakfast presenter, Neville Pillay as he had completed his junior years there.

Pillay with the rest of the Morning Rush team, consisting of Shaastra Nagesar, Althaf Suleman and Ryan Naicker, will drive out with their mobile broadcasting vehicle and entertain the pupils together with their parents and staff.

Principal of Clayhaven Primary, Mr. Davipersaad, boasted that he is absolutely excited about LotusFM joining the school on its first day. "Ringing in the new term with a live broadcast from school really will set the tone for the year ahead," he said.

As a station that often goes into the community and gives back, LotusFM is ecstatic to be able to share this first day with the pupils of Clayhaven. They can look forward to incredible prizes from Marlin Stationery, who will be joining them for the broadcast. The stationery company will add to the excitement by sponsoring various stationery hampers to the pupils.

Station Manager, Alvin Pillay, said that the purpose of this initiative is to leave pupils inspired, enlightened and educated. "It shows them that along with all the academic work that school entails, there are opportunities to learn new things through fun-filled activities such as these".

LotusFM promises to keep both listeners and students entertained with their thrilling programme as well as plan to encourage and inspire children across the Nation by putting the 'cool' into their first day of school.

LotusFM encourages listeners to join in the fun on the 15th January 2014 from 07h00 to 10h00 at Clayhaven Primary.
