Pick n Pay on Nicol undergoes refurbishment
The building façade was modified to reflect the colours and contemporary theme of the interiors, including a new look walkway, and a bolder charcoal palette. Oversized and bold graphics and signage feature throughout the trading floor were introduced to play on the consumers mind and aid in orientation within the large expanse of space. The illuminated mesh graphics and the life-like neon-coloured 'Liquor' signage aim to humanise and enliven the industrial scale of the space.
The interior of the supermarket was stripped completely in order to improve sight-lines across the space, and new ‘floating’ bulkheads were introduced along the perimeter of the space, delineating the various food and deli areas. Speciality nodes such as an ice-cream bar, coffee bar, chocolatier and the food demo area were introduced in order to heighten the customer experience. The sushi and teppanyaki bars draw the customer towards the remodelled restaurant – which was increased in area, creating a double-volume internal space.
