Depending on the size of the dealership, dealers compete in three different categories - major, medium and small. To be considered for the award dealers have to achieve at least 100% in all areas relating to the business.
The Major Dealer of the Year award went to Bates Port Shepstone, with Jacksons Queenstown and Eastvaal Motors Standerton receiving Dealer of the Year awards for medium and small dealership categories respectively.
According to Brian Olson, GMSA vice president of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing, dealers are rated on elements relating to customer experience, service excellence, standards of facilities and sales performance. "We value our customers and we want to make sure their Chevrolet, Opel and Isuzu experience is exceptional," said Olson.
Supplementary to the headline awards, dealers were also acknowledged for top volume sales and top financial services.
Top Chevrolet Volume went to Reeds N1 City Cape Town, who also bagged the Top Opel Volume award as well as the overall Top New Vehicle Sales Volume title. Auas Motors Windhoek won the Top Isuzu Volume Dealer award.
The Top Major GMSA Financial Services Dealer award went to Key Pinetown, with the medium and small accolade being awarded to Westvaal Mashishing and Eastvaal Motors Standerton, respectively.
