South African takes charge as GM of global medical firm's southern and east Africa operations
Peter Mehlape, until recently general manager of the Southern African operations of the global medical technology firm Becton Dickinson (BD) has been appointed as the general manager for the company's entire business in the southern and east African region.
A trained nurse, Peter entered the corporate world in 1990, since when he has held various managerial and senior positions in several leading pharmaceutical companies.
BD supplies a wide range of medical products used in new drug discovery, diagnosing, monitoring and medical devices used in numerous medical conditions including diabetes and cancer. Some of its products have been especially developed for the African region, to help manage complex conditions such as HIV and TB.
