Calling all math and computer whiz kids - HLF entry is open

The fourth Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF), taking place on 18-23 September 2016, is calling for young computer scientists and mathematicians from all over the world to apply for one of the 200 coveted spots to participate in the Forum.

The HLF offers all accepted young researchers the opportunity to interact personally with the laureates of the most prestigious prizes in the fields of mathematics and computer science. For one week, the recipients of the Abel Prize, the ACM A.M. Turing Award, the Fields Medal and the Nevanlinna Prize engage in a cross-generational scientific dialogue with young researchers in Heidelberg, Germany.

This prominent, versatile event combines scientific, social and outreach activities in an informal atmosphere, fuelled by comprehensive exchange and scientific inspiration. Laureate lectures, young researcher workshops and a structure welcoming unfettered discussions are the elements that compose the Forum's platform. The third HLF attracted young researchers from over 50 nations.

Over the course of the weeklong HLF, young researchers will be given the exclusive possibility to connect with their scientific role models and find out how they made it to the top of their fields.

An international committee of expert mathematicians and computer scientists meticulously reviews all completed and submitted applications to ensure that only the most qualified candidates are invited. There are 100 spaces available for each discipline of mathematics and computer science. All applicants will be notified whether or not they will be invited by the beginning of April 2016 at the latest.

The application period runs from 1 November 2015 until 3 February 2016. Young researchers at all phases of their careers (undergrad, PhD or postdoc) are encouraged to complete and submit their application via http://application.heidelberg-laureate-forum.org.
