Global Alliance brings small wind technologies to developing countries
According to ESI-Africa, international business association The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) launched a Small Wind Campaign recently. The ARE focuses on the promotion and the development of off-grid renewable energy solutions for rural electrification in developing countries.
The Small Wind Campaign, reports ESI-Africa, aims to eliminate the bottlenecks and misconceptions that have been preventing decision-makers in developing countries from integrating small wind technology -- an extremely cost-effective solution - in their energy choices for rural communities.
During its yearlong campaign, ARE will approach energy sector decision-makers in developing countries, using workshops, webinars and one-on-one meetings to assess their country's or community's energy needs, fill information gaps and share best-practices on small wind development, ESI-Africa reports.
