New members join board of Financial Planning Institute

The Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI) has announced the appointment of three new non-executive directors of the institute for a two-year term. They are Logie Govender, David Thomson, and Natasja Norval Hart. They will replace the outgoing Raymond Snyders, Kathrin Franz and Nasrat Edoo Sirkissoon.

Govender is currently the regional manager at NMG Employee Benefits in Durban. Thomson, an attorney, is employed as a legal adviser by Sanlam Life (Broker Distribution Services) and has for 15 years served independent financial planners and selected intermediaries in the banking environment. Norval Hart is the 2010 FPI Financial Planner of the Year and currently an independent financial planner with Sas?n Financial Advisory Services.

"We appreciate having worked exceptionally well and hard with the outgoing board members in positioning the Financial Planning Institute with the introduction and implementation of the new strategy. We are particularly pleased to have these distinguished professionals join the FPI board," says FPI chairperson Sankie Morata.
