Bold new pharmacy clinic service
The Pick n Pay Pharmacy in the new Woodmead Hypermarket has recently launched a new advanced concept of a primary care clinic. As a departure from the conventional pharmacy clinic, Pick n Pay has partnered with the Medical Nutritional Institute and a pathology group, Drs. Du Buisson, Bruinette and Kramer, to create an innovative range of services.
Over and above the conventional services found in a primary care clinic, such as screening tests (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose), immunization, baby clinic, wound treatment, family planning, etc…, the new MNI Pick n Pay clinic also offers added-value services such as stress management advice, specialized weight management therapies, biofeedback therapy, pathology tests, emotional intelligence development programmes and insurance and pre-employment medicals.
Says Hippo Zourides, the pharmacy team leader: “Customers and patients of the Woodmead Hypermarket can now find a one-stop solution to all their healthcare needs. This clinic will complement our pharmacy prescription service, self-medication and vitamin products”.
MNI are responsible for the strict recruitment criteria in selecting the appropriate clinic sister, who not only is qualified in primary care procedures but is also trained to perform all of the new MNI procedures. Referral networks are being developed with other local healthcare professionals to complete the service offering.
“The clinic décor is simple and professional and our standards of hygiene are impeccable” says Mariaan du Plessis of MNI. “Patients will find an quiet oasis of professional advice in the midst of this new and exciting Hypermarket”.
