Global HIV/AIDS partnership

Wairagala Wakabi, writing in The Lancet, says that there is a new spirit of cooperation and coordination among the key global players in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

The partnership comes amidst concerns about rising infection rates in some countries where infections had slowed, as well as worries about the unpredictability of funding for HIV/AIDS activities. The collaboration is expected to curb duplication of efforts and wastage of resources, and to ultimately scale-up AIDS prevention and treatment.
