Back on home shores, December's retail trade sales came in better than expected, while wholesale trade sales also posted an increase. The SACSC released its 2013 January Economic Overview, saying that while growth is under pressure, retailers should see modest gains.

For those who need a little inspiration, Heidi Franck offers us some advice on marketing in a competitive retail environment. Subhash Chandra also gives us 10 tips on how to create a strong online brand identity.

Last but not least, the 2013 Biz Trends Report is complete, and the PDF is available for download here.

Have a beary awesome one!
