Last week Kantar Millward Brown announced South Africa's Top 10 Best Liked Ads for Q1 and Q2 2017. In number one spot for quarter one is ‘The Best Things Come in Glass' for client Consol Glass by agency Grey Advertising, and taking first place in quarter two is ‘Tougher-er my Son' for Toyota Hilux by FCB Joburg. Storytelling is still huge, and food and car commercials have done particularly well this year. Events-wise, the 9th Most Awards, which recognise and rank the service efficacy of South African-based media owner sales teams and their media agency partners, were held at The Wanderers Club in Johannesburg on Thursday. Massiv Media was announced the Media Owner of the Year and PHD the Media Agency of the Year. Click here to view the full list of this year's winners.

In terms of upcoming events, the New Generation Social & Digital Media Awards has announced this year's finalists, of which the winners will be revealed at the Montecasino Ballroom later this month.
