Egypt court postpones Al Jazeera journalists' retrial

The two journalists were arrested alongside Australian national Peter Greste in Cairo while working for the Qatari network in December 2013. They had initially been sentenced to prison in June 2014 but a court ordered their retrial in January.

The three journalists were released in February, with Greste's release coming first then Fahmy and Mohamed released days after he was. All three had spent at least 400 days behind bars at the time of their release.

Greste is now in Australia after he was deported as per a presidential decree issued in November that allows deportation of foreign defendants and convicts "whenever the [state's] supreme interest necessitates so."

They were charged with defaming Egypt and spreading false news. The next trial session will convene on March 19.
