Starting a business cheapest in East Africa
Recent research by venture capital (VC) group, Savannah Fund, shows that East Africa is the easiest place to launch a startup due to the cost of setting up a business in the region being the lowest in sub-Saharan Africa.

The report states that "the venture capital fund in the research asked hubs and about three startups per country for their first-year startup costs. Savannah fund however admits that its small sample size may mean some variables would see numbers change."
According to the research, administrative costs and human resources also come cheaper than in competing regions including West and Southern Africa. Another interesting finding is that South Africa is seen as the most expensive country in Africa for startups.
