Air Botswana signs agreement with ADSoftware
Air Botswana was founded in 1972 and started commercial operations the same year. It is based at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gaborone. In addition to its responsibilities as the domestic carrier, it operates regional services (South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia) in full support of national development and the tourism industry.
The national carrier operates and maintains a modern fleet of three ATR42-500 and two ATR72-500 advanced turbo-propeller aircraft. These high-performance aircraft carry, respectively, 46 and 70 passengers in jet-like standards of comfort. In addition to the ATRs, Air Botswana owns one BAe 146 jet, which carries 78 passengers, as part of its fleet.
The enhancement and automation of functions
To provide an overall solution, ADSoftware will employ its implementation methodology to provide Air Botswana with a full scope of functionality through AirPack latest 2011 version. "The goals of AirPack 2011 are to deliver superior business solutions to our customers through the enhancement and automation of functions within the AirPack solution" noted Frederick Ulrich, CEO of ADSoftware.
"The implementation of our aviation-dedicated software at Air Botswana reflects the strength of our AirPack suite and our continued efforts within the African continent. The support put in place by our local South African office has allowed the project kick-off and will ensure a close co-operation with the airline throughout the implementation process. ADSoftware is very pleased to add Air Botswana to our client base in Africa, and to continue to strengthen and expand our installed base by adding customers over the coming months," said Ulrich.
