Spur's taste for growth remains
Restaurant turnover reached R4.8bn and sales from existing outlets were 13.1% higher.
Spur says its restaurant sales in SA rose by 15.4%‚ while sales in the international operations were 24.7% higher in rand terms.
"The performance of the international business had benefited from the depreciation of the rand in the second half of the reporting period‚" the company said.
Total sales in local currency terms increased by 14% and by 7.7% in existing outlets.
Spur Steak Ranches in SA increased sales by 15.2%‚ with turnover from existing restaurants was up by 13%.
The company says the drivers of growth continue to be the Spur Family Card loyalty programme‚ breakfast and weekday promotions‚ and the brands's family offering.
