Capitec earnings of R489-million
South Africa's fastest-growing bank, Capitec has increased its earnings by 72% and declared a dividend of 125 cents per share for the six months to August. Its headline earnings were R489-million, up from R284-million last year.
Business Day says the bank has reported an increase in loan revenues to R2,6-billion while the net transaction income was R361-million. Capitec now has 3,2-million active customers and has added 19 new branches to its network.
It says that there are now 202 ATM machines operating throughout the country and it plans to open 36 new branches between now and February next year.
