Ferrari reveals limited-edition topless LaFerrari

Images recently revealed of the open-top, hybrid-powered LaFerrari explain why it was sold out before it even went on sale officially; it's a thing of beauty. The order book was closed after a private client preview resulted in sold out status almost immediately.

The official name and technical characteristics will be disclosed at its official debut at the Paris International Motor Show in October this year. As for the amount to be manufactured, this is also not yet known, but expectations are that it will be far fewer than the original LaFerrari.

The new limited-edition special series will be available with a removable carbon-fibre hard top as well as a removable soft top. Cost predictions are hovering in the $1.4 million area.

According to Ferrari, it will boast the same running gear and performance figures as the original, sporting a 800 cv V12 (with a specific power output of 128 cv/l) coupled with a 120 kW electric motor (163 cv), unleashing 963 cv in total.

"Significant and extensive modifications have been made to the chassis with the aim of retaining the same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness as the coupé version. The car's aerodynamics have also been further honed to guarantee the same drag coefficient when driving in the open configuration," Ferrari said.
