Last week, a G.U.D. Holdings representatives attended a handover ceremony at the school in Cape Town to personally present the donation.
The substantial investment is a result of the long-term partnership between G.U.D. Holdings and Christel House South Africa. In 2011 G.U.D. offered bursaries to 30 learners from Grade 10-12, who will be graduating from Christel House at the end of the year. The 100% matric pass rate over the past few years is testament to the successes being achieved at the school.
Red Shuttleworth, CEO of G.U.D. Holdings addressed the previous bursary recipients during a special assembly, "We are extremely proud of your outstanding achievements, we encourage you to apply this success to all areas of your life." He congratulated the 30 new bursary recipients and encouraged them to work hard so they can overcome any obstacles to success.
The Christel House foundation, an independent school in Cape Town, continues to give its pupils from some of the poorest communities an opportunity out of poverty through an educational experience based on core values such as discipline and hard work.
