Alexander Forbes sells brokerage business

Alexander Forbes has agreed to sell its brokerage business to Marsh & McLennan, a professional services group in the United States according to an article published by Business Day.

It says Alexander Forbes Risk Services, along with certain local and correspondent operations in sub-Saharan Africa will be sold to Marsh & McLennan.

Jurie Erwee, chief executive of Alexander Forbes Risk Services will run the combined business in Africa, which will be called Marsh Africa. Business Day says the deal is subject to regulatory and other approvals and will probably be completed by the final quarter of this year.
