Daniel Avutia to represent Africa in Dublin in October

Daniel Avutia

Avutia will represent South Africa (Africa) at the World Championships in Dublin, Ireland in October 2015 where he will compete with the winners from the other five continents.

Avutia sits on the SAICE Geotechnical division committee and was a finalist for the prestigious SAICE JE Jennings and Young Engineer of the Year Awards in 2014. He has over five years' experience in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering and has gained sound theoretical and practical understanding of Geotechnical engineering principles through his post-graduate studies. He has presented at International and National Engineering conferences with technical publications on three continents.

His experience also includes soil mechanics; laboratory and field techniques; foundation design; slope stability analysis; ground improvement; road rehabilitation and design; stormwater hydraulics and hydrology design; AutoCAD, SLIDE, PHASE2, LEAPFROG, DIPS.
