KMMSA launches wireless DR system

JOHANNESBURG: Konica Minolta Medical South Africa (KMMSA), a subsidiary of the Bidvest Group of companies, has launched its AeroDR, a wireless digital radiography system that is said to deliver exceptional image quality. Reduced radiation exposure is achieved through a combination of the Konica Minolta CsI scintillator, which delivers a high DQE (Detective Quantum Efficiency). Additionally, the AeroDR attains a wider dynamic exposure range.

Because the AeroDR allows for contact of the CsI scintillator directly over a TFT sensor panel, without the need for a protective layer, it is possible to guide the light emitted from the scintillator to the photodiode, without dispersal of light at the TFT sensor interface.

Compatible with existing wall-stands, table bucky trays

The AeroDR is compatible with existing wall-stands and table bucky trays, having the same dimensions as an ISO 4090 compliant film cassette. Additionally, it can be fully integrated with "Shared FPD" solutions, allowing the additional panel to be shared between various AeroDR x-ray rooms or the AeroDR mobile unit.

The AeroDR's CS-7 console has a graphical interface with proprietary functions which can be shared between CR and DR when CS-7 is fully integrated into the x-ray system. Quick Preview and Smart GUI (Graphical User Interface) provide immediate imaging and flexible, customisable user interfaces.

The AeroDR panel weighs 2.8kg, with an extremely rigid body casing. It has rapidly rechargeable, long-life lithium capacitors, which does not need replacing for the lifespan of the detector.
