Campaigning for Cancer launches website
The site addresses cancer advocacy and provides online reference materials. Added to this, it creates important linkages between cancer advocates and activists in various regions to form lasting partnerships and mentoring relationships.
“This website is not a standard website but an information and educational tool for cancer advocacy in South Africa. This interactive communication tool creates a platform for public debate,” says Lauren Pretorius, the non-profit organizational consultant.
Cancer Advocacy will be addressed for the first time in South Africa through a conference with a specific focus on Advocacy, which is set to take place from the 5th – 7th October 2007, at the Forum Campus in Bryanston, Johannesburg. The focus of the conference is to create a platform to discuss and challenge the various issues that make up the cancer advocacy landscape.
