A day in the life of Oscar the cat

Oscar was adopted as a kitten by the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre and has been with them for two years. He has developed an uncanny ability to predict when a person is going to die, so much so that the nursing staff call relatives when Oscar cuddles up next to a resident. This remarkable cat stays with the elderly person until their death and has given such comfort to relatives and staff that he has a plaque dedicated to him by a local hospice association, "For his compassionate hospice care, this plaque is awarded to Oscar the Cat."
