The awards form part of the African Agri Investment Indaba (AAII) 2026, taking place from 16–18 November 2026 at the Addis International Convention Centre in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Now in its third year, the awards recognise contributions across Africa’s food and agriculture sector.

Eight categories announced

The 2026 awards cover eight categories spanning leadership, innovation, sustainability, investment and the development of agricultural talent:

• Rising Star Award
• Woman of the Year Award
• Sustainability Champion
• Deal of the Year
• Innovation in Food and Agriculture Award
• Lifetime Achievement Award
• Agri-tech Pioneer
•\ Youth Engagement Award

“Africa’s food and agriculture sector is home to businesses, entrepreneurs and leaders doing exceptional work, often in challenging environments,” says Ben Leyka, CEO of the African Agri Council. “The Awards give us an opportunity to recognise that work and showcase some of the people and businesses helping to move the sector forward.”

Previous winners have included agribusinesses, agri-tech companies, entrepreneurs and agricultural leaders from across the continent.
The awards form part of the African Agri Investment Indaba, which brings together stakeholders from across Africa’s agricultural investment and food value chains.
