Hyundai Automotive South Africa has expanded its local line-up with a new Creta priced below its predecessor, the introduction of the Creta N Line, and an updated Staria with revised styling and upgraded technology.
The new Creta 1.5 Premium is priced at R434,900, making it R44,000 cheaper than the outgoing 2024 model. Hyundai has also introduced the Creta 1.5T N Line to South Africa for the first time, priced at R569,900.
At the same time, the Staria multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) has received a facelift bringing revised exterior styling, an upgraded cabin and larger infotainment displays.
New Creta starts at R434,900
The new Creta 1.5 Premium is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 84 kW and 144 Nm of torque.
It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, rear combination lamps, electrically folding mirrors, keyless entry and start, USB charging, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth with voice recognition and a 4.2-inch supervision display.
Safety equipment includes front, thorax and curtain airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist, ISOFIX mounting points, parking distance warning, a rear-view monitor and tyre-pressure monitoring.
Hyundai claims fuel consumption of 6.3 L/km for the model.
The Creta Premium includes a seven-year/200,000 km manufacturer warranty and a four-year/60,000 km service plan.
Creta N Line arrives in South Africa
The sportier Creta 1.5T N Line joins the range at R569,900, marking the first time the N Line derivative has been offered in South Africa.
It uses a 1,482 cc turbocharged engine producing 117.5kW and 253Nm, paired with a dual-clutch transmission.
The N Line is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, LED headlights and daytime running lights, a satin-black grille and full leather upholstery.
Its driver assistance equipment includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, lane-departure warning, pre-collision avoidance and fatigue detection.
Rear parking sensors and a 360-degree parking camera are also standard, alongside wireless smartphone charging, Bluetooth connectivity and Isofix mounting points.
The N Line receives a seven-year/200,000 km manufacturer warranty, four-year/60,000 km service plan and seven-year/150,000 km roadside assistance.
Staria gets technology and styling update
The facelifted Staria retains its 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine, producing 130kW and 430Nm and driving through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The exterior changes include redesigned bumpers and radiator grilles, a revised horizontal daytime running light signature, new wheel designs and an updated rear bumper garnish.
Inside, both the infotainment and instrument displays have grown from 10.25 inches to 12.3 inches. The dashboard and centre fascia have also been redesigned, while a new steering wheel and updated cabin detailing have been added.

The range includes a seven-year/200,000 km manufacturer warranty and seven-year/150,000 km roadside assistance. The Luxury receives a seven-year/105,000 km service plan, while Executive and Elite derivatives receive six-year/90,000 km service plans.
