Pan-African telecommunications group Smile Telecoms has appointed Ahmad Farroukh - who currently serves as Smile's group executive director operations - as its group chief executive officer and Irene Charnley as its deputy chairman, effective 1 June 2019.
Farroukh is a seasoned and experienced telecoms executive with a distinguished record of commercial and operational success.
Charnley has led the company's innovation and pioneering of Africa's first 4G LTE network infrastructure, using low band spectrum in the 800MHz band.
