    PARIS, FRANCE / DARMSTADT, GERMANY: IFRA Expo, the largest global trade exhibition for the news publishing and media industry, will be returning to Vienna next month, this time in combination with the 63rd World Newspaper Congress and the 18th World Editors Forum, creating a one-time, mega "Newspaper Week" event for the world's publishers.
    IFRA Expo 2011 to commence massive newspaper week events

    From 10 to 12 October, IFRA Expo will attract decision-makers from all over the world to the Reed Messe exhibition complex in Vienna. Some 287 exhibitors will draw an estimated 10 000 visitors from more than 80 countries to experience a review of new products and trends for newspapers and media production.

    The IFRA Expo will be followed this year by the World Newspaper Congress and World Editors Forum, the annual summit meetings of the world's press, from 12 to 15 October in the same venue. The Congress examines the business side of the newspaper business, presenting leading publishers from many markets, while the Editors Forum is the number-one editorial conference worldwide for chief editors and other senior newsroom personnel.

    This year's IFRA Expo is enhanced by the following events:

    • Media Port, which presents successful publishing case studies from around the globe - and the technology that drives the success (10-12 Oct);

    • The Power of Print, a series of Focus Sessions bringing together international case studies (10-11 Oct);

    • 4th International E-reading & Tablet Conference, which highlights the opportunities that new eReaders, Tablet PCs and the iPad offer to newspaper companies (11 Oct);

    • Presentation of the winners of the WAN-IFRA XMA Cross Media Awards (10 Oct);

    • The annual "Get Together," where participants can make contacts and renew acquaintances with publishers and suppliers from all over the world while enjoying refreshments, snacks and music (10 Oct);

    • and much more.

    Full details of all the events can be found at http://www.worldnewspaperweek.org.

    IFRA Expo is reputed to be the world's largest trade exhibition for the news publishing industry, annually drawing some 300 exhibitors with products and services for all publishing platforms. Last year's event drew more than 10 000 people to Hamburg, Germany. Here's what some of them are saying:

    "The exhibition has the potential to become the focal point of the discussion concerning what newspapers and publishers are heading towards in the coming years." Jan Schröder, CEO, Forecasting Strategy Markets Group, Germany.

    "An essential window on the innovative capacity and quality of our industry." Markus Brehm, CEO, Allgäuer Zeitungsverlag, Germany.

    "Hamburg was for three days the home of print and online competence; a visit there was very rewarding also (or especially) for online media." Carsten Hebestreit, editor, OÖN, Austria.

    More than 90% of IFRA Expo visitors are decision-makers at publishing houses: Advertising managers, operating managers, business development managers, chief editors, managing editors, chief information officers, prepress managers, purchasing managers, managing directors/CEOs, IT managers, heads of R&D and heads of online publishing, marketing managers, production and technical managers, mailroom and distribution managers.
