Euronews boosts SA presence
Already part of DStv's Premium package since 2006, Euronews is now included in the DStv Family and DStv Compact packages.
As a result of this agreement Euronews now reaches a total of almost 3.5 million households, which now have access to Euronews broadcasting 24/7 in South Africa.
DStv customers have access to international news from a European perspective in their preferred language: Euronews French, English, German, Portuguese and Spanish services are available.
Euronews was launched in South Africa 7 years ago. Paris-based international distributor THEMA concluded the first distribution agreement on DStv for the channel. On behalf of Euronews, THEMA is in charge of relations with the main African cable and satellite operators.
Arnaud Verlhac, Deputy Director Worldwide Distribution at Euronews, said: "I am proud to announce this new proof of confidence by MultiChoice. Over the last 7 years, we have been working closer and closer together. The consequence of this collaboration is a substantial increase of our presence in South Africa, Africa's leading television market."
