Defence minister regrets death of television reporter

The National Defence Ministry (MDN), Sunday, 1 April 2012, in Luanda expressed regret for the death of the Angolan State-run television (TPA) reporter, Feliciano Saiminho "Mágico", on Wednesday on the Huambo/Bié route, following the crash of the helicopter he was flying in.

This is contained in a message of condolence that reached Angop, saying the MDN highlights that the journalist who died on duty was a devoted professional, truly in love and engaged with the work of taking his job to the viewers with recognised quality.

"In this moment of suffering and mourning that we join, on behalf of the National Defence Ministry, of the Angolan Armed Forces and on my own, I bend before the memory of the illfated and may I present to the Social Communication Ministry, to the TPA and to the bereaved family, the expression of our most heartfelt condolence for the sad development," says the minister Cândido Van-Dúnem in the note.

Feliciano Saiminho was killed on March 28 when the Air Force helicopter he was flying in crashed in central Huambo province. The Allouette III helicopter flight officer, Manuel Andre, also died in the crash.
