The provincial government of Luanda (GPL) praised the efforts of the National Police and the media organs in raising the citizens' awareness on good behaviour during the festive season.
This was said to the press on Wednesday, 7 January 2015, by the vice-governor of Luanda for political and social affairs, Jovelina Imperial, at the end of a meeting aimed to assess the festive season.
Jovelina Imperial considered positive the balance of the festive season, due to the behaviour that the population had in districts and municipalities.
The official recognised that the sensibilisation of the media organs and police forces was fundamental for the citizens to behave well during the referred period.
She expressed her satisfaction at the attitude and civility of the community and in particular of the religious people, stating that all citizens must abide by this principle, aiming for the harmonious development.
Regarding the public order, the official highlighted the commitment of the police to maintaining the public order and tranquility before, during and after the festive season, as well as at the year end race of Saint Sylvester.
Jovelina Imperial also considered positive the Christmas for children, which counted on the participation more than 1000 minors from the seven municipalities of Luanda, as well as the work carried out by the cleaning operators.
