Renault introduces limited edition Kwid Climber

Renault has announced the addition of the funky limited edition Kwid Climber to its range. To mark its exclusivity, the Climber will be limited to 200 units.

The Kwid Climber boasts enhanced design by means of an exterior styling pack. The two-tone exterior is further enhanced with distinctive protection cladding on the doors and rugged bumper over-riders.

More SUV-inspired details include arching rails with orange accents fitted on the roof as well as muscular style wheels and 180 mm ground clearance.

On the inside, there's a piano black centre fascia with orange contours and the bespoke Climber insignia on the headrests of the two-tone seats. The vibrant orange accents extend to the door trims, side air vents, the two-tone gear knob and sporty steering wheel with orange perforations.

The vehicle boasts standard aircon, electric front windows, and onboard navigation.

The Climber features intuitive technology to ensure that driver and passengers stay connected, including a MediaNav navigation/multi-media system complete with large 18cm touchscreen display, radio, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The open storage space facing the front passenger, lower glove box (plus upper glove box in Dynamique and Climber versions), driver and passenger in-door storage space with one-litre bottle holder and rear parcel tray, allow for practical and convenient stowage.

Under the hood

The compact 1.0-litre three-cylinder smart control efficiency (SCe) engine has been optimised for power and performance and pushes out peak power of 50kW @ 5,500rpm and maximum torque of 91Nm @ 4,250rpm.

The fuel efficient petrol powered engine is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox and and Renault claims a fuel consumption of 4.7 litres/100km and 4.4 litres/100km with the AMT transmission.

Pricing

The Kwid Climber 1.0-litre SCe comes with a price tag of R148,900. It comes standard with a five-year/150,000km mechanical warranty and a six-year anti-corrosion warranty. Services take place at 15,000km intervals. Optional service plans are available. The manufacturer also currently offers one year comprehensive insurance cover.
