Nathi Chonco joins Concargo executive

Concargo Global Logistics and Concargo Distribution have announced that Nathi Chonco will become a shareholder partner to manage the growth of the business with the group's founder and MD, David Kruyer.

With a supply chain and logistics industry background, Chonco brings his financial and transport industry expertise to his role as a director of the group to help it through its high growth period and expand its role in the industry, as a growing logistics road transport company.

"He has outstanding credentials and is a great fit for this important position. As a medium size company, we recognised that we needed someone like this to grow our corporate and offshore business. His corporate, financial and leadership experience as well as his expertise in the transport and financial industries will serve us well," says Kruyer.

Financial expertise

Chonco is also a director of Vunani Fund Managers and non-executive director of Total Client Services and chairman of its Social and Ethics Committee. He served as group executive: group empowerment & development and was a member of the group executive committee at Metropolitan. He led the team that formulated the empowerment strategy and initiative that resulted in Metropolitan Group partnering with Kagiso Trust Investments as the BEE partner. Under his leadership, the Black Management Forum, Financial Mail and Business Map recognised Metropolitan Group as a leading black empowered financial services group. Previously he served as an executive director of HR at Maskew Miller Longman and sales advisor (Neighbouring States) BP South Africa. He has a BA Degree and M.Phil Degree in Business Ethics.
