The shuttle service will operate from 1 to 3 December 2021 between the Golden Acre Bus Terminus in Strand Street via the drop-and-go area outside the MyCiTi Civic Centre station on Hertzog Boulevard, and the Vaccination Centre of Hope at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

The service is free for everyone to use:

• The buses will run every 10 minutes in both directions

• The first bus will depart from the Golden Acre at 7.30am

• The last bus will depart from the CTICC at 4.10pm

"The buses will be clearly marked as a shuttle service with posters on the front so that commuters can easily identify them. A new Covid-19 variant has been identified in South Africa, and I am urging every Capetonian to please get fully vaccinated before a possible fourth wave settles in.

"This service is free and I urge all to please make use of the opportunity to get vaccinated as soon as possible. As a caring City we want residents to stay safe, and for our businesses to remain open and to create jobs so that we can recover from the economic devastation caused by the pandemic," said Councillor Rob Quintas, the City’s mayoral committee member for transport.

All commuters are reminded of the health and safety protocols related to Covid-19: please wear a mask at all times, practice a safe distance, and sanitise or wash hands often.
