JamCell Telecommunication Network to begin operations in Liberia
JamCell will offer its services in technical partnership with Ericsson, the Swedish group specialized in the design of technologies and the deployment of communication networks. Their model will be based on narrowband technology, an alternative to LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology, to meet the growing demand for device connectivity. It will also serve as a pre-5G platform for cellular services and smart city early applications.
As we already know, 5G is the next generation of mobile broadband that will sooner or later replace, or at least expand, 4G LTE connection. With 5G, there will be faster download and upload speeds. Latency, or the time it takes devices to communicate with each other wireless networks, will also completely decline.
JamCell will effectively start operations in 2021. The company will invest close to US $ 100 million over the license term. Some of the money will be used for licensing fees, spectrum acquisition and infrastructure development.
