    Developments underway at Saxdowne Park

South African property development and investment company, Intaprop has secured two major deals for tailor-made premises for Form-Scaff and Wasteman, at Saxdowne Park, in the Western Cape.

"We are thrilled to have signed up these two industry leaders, and we can't wait to welcome them to Saxdowne Park," said Intaprop director Henti van Zyl, who confirmed that the development is receiving strong tenant interest.

Intaprop has started a R42 million development for Wasteman at Saxdowne Park. Wasteman, a leader in waste management operating across South Africa, is due to move in to its new premises in the third quarter of 2014.These premises will include a 17 500m2 yard, an approximately 1800m2 waste management facility, workshops and 1700m2 of offices.

Form-Scaff, supplier of formwork, support work and scaffolding to the construction and civil engineering industries will also be calling Saxdowne Park home, with Intaprop developing the R27 million premises. Also due to be complete in the third quarter of 2014, this development includes a 1391m2 sales warehouse, a 9720m2 yard facility and 422m2 of offices.

Situated in a growing commercial node south of Kuils River (Cape Town) the 15ha prime park is located at the bustling intersection of Stellenbosch Arterial Road and Saxdowne Road. Saxdowne Park will include retail, offices, logistics facilities, distribution warehouses and small- to-medium scale manufacturing outlets.

    Dual carriageway arterial road

Perfectly positioned for distribution, logistics and manufacturing businesses, the park's location on Stellenbosch Arterial Road, a dual carriageway arterial road that carries 31,000 vehicles daily, places it on a main route and in close proximity to the R300 road. The route is the major link between Cape Town International Airport, Kuils River, Stellenbosch and industrial areas such as Blackheath, Saxenburg Park and Airport Industria.

The first phase of Saxdowne Park comprises ready-to-build Business 1 and Business 4 development parcels. Sites range in size from 5000m2 to 20 000m2 and can be consolidated to form larger development parcels.

"Demand for light industrial, warehousing and distribution facilities within a properly managed business park environment is high in this part of the metropolitan area, especially due to its central location within the city," said Van Zyl.

"Its prime location, zoned rights and competitive land costs all deliver the best quality development opportunities in the node and the interest shown so far by the business community serves to prove the park's future success."
