    Tell-Em Public Relations goes digital

Tell-Em Public Relations, a public relations agency in East Africa has shifted to digital and online media. The company recently hosted a training session for its staff with Casey Monteiro - a digital expert from South Africa who heads up the Fleishman-Hillard Digital Practice in Johannesburg.

“Agencies such as Fleishman-Hillard now concentrate on delivering key messages through digital media, as well as the traditional media scene. It's important that agencies in Africa keep pace. Africa is experiencing an internet revolution and with the coming of the fibre optic cable to Kenya this year, there will be a huge spike in Kenyan internet users,” said Elizabeth Cook, Tell-Em Public Relations managing director.

Tell-Em Public Relations has created pages on FaceBook and also driven consumer support for pages for its clients including the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards. The MAMAs page had more than 3000 members. Tell-Em also created a page on FaceBook for the COPA Coca-Cola football tournament in Kenya.

“We plan to launch our own digital department and with the training we are receiving from Fleishman-Hillard, we will be able to help our clients manage their reputation online as well as in the traditional media space of newspapers, TV and radio,” said Cook.
