Take a break-away getaway

With the mid-year holidays just behind us, we reflect on a couple of great getaway options. Marion Cher heads up north to spend time in the glorious Kruger National Park, Jordan Scott relaxes and unwinds at the idyllic and isolated Kagga Kamma in the Cederberg Mountains, while, less close to home, Brian Berkman swops South Africa's winter for Scottish summer and enjoys The Knights Residence in Edinburgh.

In movie news, Daniel Dercksen reviews the much anticipated The Wolverine and, what he considers to be the best movie of the year, The Place Beyond The Pines.

Theatre contributor Eugene Yiga has been a busy-bee and interviews comedian Mark Banks as well as Sadako writer Peter Hayes and director Jaqueline Dommisse. He gives his thoughts on a capella musical; A Town Called Fokol Lutho. In other theatre news, Debbie Hathway catches up on some worthwhile Grahamstown National Arts Festival productions that are now being staged in Cape Town, and Dercksen urges those who have yet to see Jersey Boys to do so.

Our new competition this week sees you stand the chance to win two tickets to either the Cape Town or Joburg leg of the That's What She Said series featuring Ibiza DJ Karina Chaczbabian!
