A host of heavy-hitting international acts have recently been announced to venture across the oceans to our lovely tip of the world. Hot off the press is the Big Concerts announcement that
Rihanna has been confirmed to perform in Cape Town and Joburg in October. Prior to that, Hilltop Live announced they would be bringing American alternative rockers
Chevelle to our shores end of May and early June. Miller has secured Atlanta rapper
2 Chainz as the headliner for the Vodacom Durban July, and UK comedian
Michael McIntyre is set to perform at Grand West this month.
But by far the most exciting news for me personally is the announcement of my current favourite band
alt-J to headline both Rocking the Daises in Cape Town and Vodacom's In the City in Joburg! Big ups to Seed Experiences for hooking this fresh new band.
In other music news, Daphne Cooper reports back on her highlights at the
14th Cape Town Jazz Festival, and
Metallica fans are informed of a venue and ticket change in Cape Town.
Travel contributor Brian Berkman enjoys a stay at the restful and comfortable
Riverside Estate, and reports back on the recent announcement of a
Health & Fitness Week at the Shanti Maurice resort.
Henrie Geyser reviews the new slimmed and priced down
2013 Nissan Pathfinder, while Jordan Scott experiences some old time charm at the launch of
1Roodeberg.
Competitions this week include tickets to Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist at Grand West, and to see a one night only performance by 80s SA band Falling Mirror at the Barnyard Theatre.
