SPF 04, the Son newspaper's new awareness campaign, is both a play on the publication's title - an acronym for Son Postcard Facts - and because the daily version of Son is published four days a week, Monday to Thursday - and there will be four different postcards in the series.
Filling the gap in Mpumalanga "Beeld readers in Mpumalanga are seeking more area-specific editorial and advertising content," says Lucille van Niekerk, Beeld's GM. "With this in mind, in June we launch Mpumalanga Beeld as a supplement in the paper on Fridays." The extension will also be available on Saturdays as a free edition to Middelburg, Witbank, Secunda, Bethal and Nelspruit.

Student Academy Award winner from SA On 15 May 2006, African Film Development Agency (AFDA) student filmmaker, Tristan Holmes, was informed that his film 'Elalini' had been selected by the Academy membership as the winning film in the 33rd Annual Student Academy Awards Honorary Foreign Film category. The first ever South African film to be awarded this prize, 'Elalini' competed against entries from 29 different countries. Over 20 cases have been reported in the Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, in particular. The public was first alerted by Pick 'n Pay to the scam in early May but now the fraudulent activities have been extended to suppliers as well.
