Winecorp, producer of Spier, Longridge and Savanha, has come first in the World Association of Wine & Spirits Writers and Journalists' Ranking of Wineries of South Africa 2005/2006, placing 28th overall in the Top 100 Wineries of the World. Collectively known as World Ranking Wines, the rating is an annual summary of results of large wine competitions; some 220 contests were included in the 2005 assessment, representing 96% of wines entered around the globe in 2005. South Africa ranked seventh overall in the awards.
