US stars on local soil
Top Hollywood actors, Nick Nolte, Joachim Pheonix and Don Cheadle, will soon be in South Africa to film Hotel Rwanda, a film set against the backdrop of the Rwandan genocide. They will be joining local stars Leleti Khumalo (Sarafina!), Mothusi Magano (Gums and Noses) and Desmond Dube on shoots in Johannesburg and Alexandria. Director Terry George (In the Name of the Father) will be making use of South African crew and Rwandan extras living in Pretoria. 35 to 45% of the total budget will be spent in South Africa.
