ICASA gives OK to WiFi hotspots

The Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA) has concluded that wireless internet access (WiFi) is legal as long as it is provided within the borders of a customer's premises. The ruling goes against Telkom's claim that the service should form part of the Public Switched Telephone Network.
