Zuku Bongo Movie awards nominees announced

The awards acknowledge and celebrate the growing importance of the Bongo Movie industry on cultural and economic development in the East Africa region.
The nominees showcased a diverse group of talent that included breakout filmmakers and outstanding directors.
The winners will be announced at the 2015 Zanzibar International Film Festival awards ceremony taking place on 25 July in Stonetown. The awards winners will be chosen by the festival juries and Zuku Channel directors with the winning films to premiere on the Zuku Swahili channel 210 broadcasting in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia.

- Mbwa Mwitu-Short/ Action/Documentary
- Samaki Mchangani - Short/Drama
- Faraja - Short/Drama
- Pishu - Comedy
- Going Bongo - Comedy
- Kilimo 2 - Animation/ Short
