East Africa gets regional business directory
The 274-page directory has been published by the East African Business Council (EABC), an advocacy body of private sector associations and businesses from the five East African countries including; Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The book was unveiled to East Africans by Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, president of Tanzania and is now on sale at US$40 per hard copy while the CD version costs US$20, according to Godwin Muhwezi Bonge, the communications officer, EABC.
Announcing its availability in Arusha, Agatha Nderitu, acting executive director of East African Business Council, said the directory presents immense opportunities to those seeking to extend their fortunes beyond the confines of national boundaries and also serves as a tool for business-to-business matchmaking.
“The directory will improve access to information on trade and business opportunities in the region as well as enhancing interaction among businesses in the business community in East Africa,” Nderitu said. “It allows investors, businessmen and the public to easily identify companies operating within the region.”
