Mikateko Media ventures into East Africa

Mikateko Media, the South African 54% black-owned and controlled publishing company, has signed Safaricom, the East African telecommunications service provider and will produce The Option, a quarterly publication, which will go out to 100 000 Safaricom customers.

Raj Lalbahadur, MD of Mikateko Media, says, "This is an important milestone for Mikateko as it fits in with our vision to be a global player in the custom publishing arena. The current increasing demand for quality and value added benefits puts enormous pressure on publishing and editorial staff. Contract publishing is no easy feat and what we endeavour as a close- knit team is to continuously raise service delivery beyond customer expectations. Safricom's confidence in our ability to meet their demands lies in awarding Mikateko the contract. This is the beginning of a journey, which has no boundries."
