NUSOJ mourns loss of journalist killed in SA
MOGADISHU: The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) today, 1 June 2011, said the killing of a Somali journalist in Johannesburg, South Africa, has highlighted the continuing dangers facing Somali citizens in South Africa.
Ibrahim Mohamed Zaki, a journalist working with HornCable TV, Somali TV network, was murdered today in Johannesburg after armed men attacked his car and shot him dead.
NUSOJ calls this killing a tragic moment for media and Somali people in South Africa, who have been victims of deliberate and deadly violence in recent months.
The Government of South Africa should apprehend the criminals behind this heinous crime and bring them to justice, says NUSOJ.
