    West Africa: Mobile Remittance Summit draws large institutions

    The Mobile Remittance Summit West Africa will be held 25-26 January 2011 at Oceanview Eko Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria. Mallam Ibrahim Mori Baba, postmaster general of NIPOST Nigeria will give the keynote address on the role of the National Postal Network as an agent network for the emerging ecosystem in Nigeria.

    The speaker panel consists of technology experts and financial institutions, representing companies such as UBA Uganda, Ecobank Roamware, FETS, Fortis MobileMoney, Medallion Communications, GTS Infotel, MDZL, Progenics Corp, ACMFI, CellTrust, Tagattitude, eTranzact, Africxpress, MMIT, SugarAnts, Aims Ghana, mtzl Uganda, ACMFI and NIPOST.

    Beneficial for recently licensed providers

    Personnel from the financial sector dealing with mobile banking and payments, including IT, mobile network operators, channel management, service delivery, customer service, technology, mobile banking, internet banking, microfinance banking, cards, retail, transactional, agency management firms and self-service banking, are expected to attend.

    Mobile money providers who will benefit from attending include representatives from the 16 recently licensed mobile payment providers in Nigeria and other operators across West Africa.
