New National Geographic Channels International appointment
As EVP of international content for NGCI, Mykura will oversee all editorial development and production for NGCI, working closely with local programming teams and reporting to Lopez. Mykura will help spearhead NGCI's continued success across the globe in 165 countries and provide supervision for its portfolio of networks: NGC, NGC HD, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Wild HD, and Nat Geo Adventure.
Mykura will also serve as London head of global development, responsible for bringing projects from UK-based production houses to NGC's global commissioning team in Washington, DC, and in respect to this role he will report to Michael Cascio, EVP of Content NGC US.
Mykura was most recently head of documentaries at Channel 4,one of the UK's most popular terrestrial channels, and head of the digital channel More4. His expertise guided More4 up five spots in the UK digital channel rankings, propelling the channel solidly into the top 10. In his 10 years at Channel 4, Mykura led the major reinvention of non-scripted television in Britain and created highly rated new formats including One Born Every Minute, 24 Hours in A+E and Fighting on the Frontline. Under his tenure, he also commissioned award-winning drama documentary singles and series, including Trafalgar Battle Surgeon (Winner, Broadcast Best Drama), Nuremberg: Goering's Last Stand (Winner, BAFTA), 9/11 The Falling Man (nominated for International Emmy) and The Hindenburg (Winner, Emmy).

Prior to Channel 4, Mykura was the executive producer at Blakeway Productions and spent 10 years at the BBC as producer and director of factual programming.
In his new position, Mykura will lead a team of veteran television executives dedicated to the mission of National Geographic and the continued growth of the channels on a global basis. He will be based in National Geographic Channels' London office.
