Braai4Heritage on 24 September

Annually on 24 September, Braai4Heritage seeks to bring together all South Africans in celebration of our common heritage through the symbolic activity of the braai. The campaign presents a good opportunity for retail and marketing communities to build their own marketing campaigns.

"The 2010 FIFA World Cup proved to be such a special experience that the question must be, how do we harness this feeling of pride and unity so that all sectors of society are on the same team?" asks the man behind Braai4Heritage, Jan Braai.

He envisions a national celebration, which is "second to Christmas," and can create a shared tradition which the international community will see as synonymous with South Africa, similar to Bastille Day or St. Patrick's Day.
