Wallpaper*'s insight on February Design Awards Edition

Boasting what the team reckons to be the best judges' line-ups to-date, the judging panel includes:

• Grayson Perry, ceramicist;
  
• Rafael Vinoly, New York-based architect;
  
• Simon de Pury, a Swiss art auctioneer and collector, chairman and co-founder of the art auction house Phillips de Pury & Company;
  
• Gerd Bulthaup, son of the company's founder of the German kitchen manufacturer;
  
• Jean-Paul Goude, a French graphic designer, illustrator, photographer and advertising film director, creating campaigns for the likes of Chanel.

A 6th surprise judge is yet to be revealed.

The awards will include categories such as Best Domestic Design; nominees include:

• Dada;
  
• Valcucine;
  
• Flos;
  
• Siedle.

Designer of the Year. Best New Restaurant, nominees include:

• Sur Mesure, Paris;
  
• Nopi, London;
  
• Ozone, Hong Kong;
  
• Cecconi's, Miami.

In the Best New Men's fashion collections, nominees include

• Lanvin;
  
• Raf Simons;
  
• Dior;
  
• YSL.

Best New women's collection, nominees include:

• Jil Sander;
  
• Louis Vuitton;
  
• Givenchy;
  
• Bottega Veneta.

Best new grooming product and Life-enhancer of the year. The winners will be announced in the February issue.
